Can I receive a statement of account on whatsapp?
Currently, the option to request an account statement directly via WhatsApp is not available. We're working on enabling this feature soon.
In the meantime, you can:

Mobile Number & OTP Verification

Why do you need my mobile number?
Your mobile number is used to identify if you have an existing folio with Zerodha Fund House or not.
We need to first verify your mobile number by sending a One-Time Password (OTP). If you already have an existing folio with Zerodha Mutual Fund from any platform, we will allow you to immediately start investing via Zerodha Fund House WhatsApp channel.

What if I enter an invalid mobile number?
The system will display an error message indicating that the entered number is invalid format. Only 10-digit Indian mobile numbers are allowed in this feature.

What if I don't receive an OTP or enter an incorrect OTP?

You will have options to resend the OTP. If you enter an incorrect OTP multiple times, the system might temporarily lock you out for security reasons. OTPs also have a limited validity period; ensure you enter it before it expires.

PAN & Identity Verification

Why is PAN required?
Your Permanent Account Number (PAN) is essential for identity verification and to check your Know Your Customer (KYC) status as mandated by the regulator.

What happens after I enter my PAN?
The system validates your PAN and checks KYC status with your PAN. It also checked if via the PAN, if some other mobile number is already linked in Zerodha Fund House. In that case, it will nudge you to enter the mobile number which is linked to the PAN.

What if my PAN is invalid or already registered?

  • Invalid PAN: The system will display an error for incorrect format or invalid PAN.

  • PAN already exists: If your PAN belongs to an existing user with a different mobile number, it will nudge you to enter the mobile number which is linked to the PAN.

How do you verify my KYC? What about DigiLocker?
KYC status is first fetched from the KRA database. In case the KRA status is not validated for investing in Mutual Funds with Zerodha Fund House - DigiLocker is the available option to fetch Aadhaar details and complete your KYC. Consent is taken on the screen before fetching your details. If you are unable to proceed via the DigiLocker, you might need to complete your KYC with KRA (KYC Registration Agency) and then resume the journey.

My details (Name, DOB, Gender, Address) are already in KRA/RTA. Will I have to enter them again?
No. For existing users, if your Investor Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Address are available in KRA records, these details will be fetched and pre-populated. You will generally not be allowed to change your Name or Date of Birth if they are matched with PAN records and KRA data.

Personal & Other Details

Why are Personal Details, Occupation, and FATCA details required?
These details are mandatory for regulatory compliance, FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) declarations, which help determine your tax residency.

Are my details pre-filled if I'm an existing user?
Yes, if you are an existing KRA user i.e. your details are available from KRA or our records, fields like Name, DOB, Gender, Marital Status, Occupation, and Source of Wealth may be pre-populated to minimize your input.

What about minor users? Are there specific fields for them?
Currently minors are not allowed to create a new folio from the new user onboarding journey offered by Zerodha Fund House. You can invest in Zerodha Fund House funds from other platforms which offer minor investment feature.

Bank Account Verification

How do I verify my bank account?
Your bank account will be verified using a Penny Drop method, where a penny is deposited to your account to confirm its validity and ownership. To fetch your account details easily, you can transfer a penny  from the UPI app of your choice, this penny amount is auto-refunded in 2-3 days.

Can I change my bank account after onboarding?
Yes, you can update your bank account from https://www.camsonline.com/Investors/Service-requests/Change-Bank-Mandate.

Nominee Details

Is it mandatory to add a nominee?
During onboarding, you will have the option to add a nominee or choose to skip it. However, it is highly recommended to add a nominee for the smooth transmission of your units in unforeseen circumstances.

Can I add multiple nominees?
The system may allow you to add multiple nominees (up to 3), and you can specify the share for each nominee.

Can I update nominee details later?
Yes, you can add or update nominee details after completing the onboarding process as well via https://www.camsonline.com/Investors/Service-requests/Nomination/Nomination-Opt-in_&_Opt-out.

Email Verification

Why is email verification required?
Your email address is crucial for communication, sending transaction confirmations, statements of account, and other important updates. Email validation ensures we have a correct and accessible channel to reach you.

What if my email is already linked to another account?
If your email is already registered, the system will identify this. We will require you to use the same email ID, if previously used in creating folio with Zerodha Fund House for the entered PAN.

Can I track or redeem my investment through WhatsApp?
Yes, you can track your portfolio value and withdraw your mutual fund units directly through WhatsApp if they are held in the SOA (Statement of Account) format. Withdrawals from locked or on-hold units (e.g., ELSS funds) are restricted. If your investment is in demat form, you may need to use your demat account for withdrawals.

Common Issues

What if I do not have Aadhaar or cannot proceed via DigiLocker?
Currently, DigiLocker is the option available. If you are unable to proceed via DigiLocker, you can complete your KYC with KRA (KYC Registration Agency) directly. Once your KYC is verified by a KRA, you should be able to resume your Zerodha Fund House onboarding Journey.

What if I encounter an error screen or the feature gets stuck?
If you face issues, please try closing the tab and start the feature again by verifying your mobile number. If the issue persists, please contact our support team at support@zerodhafundhouse.com.

What if the ₹1 verification fails for my bank account?
If the ₹1 credit fails, ensure your bank account details (account number, IFSC code) are correct and that the account is active. If issues persist, verify with your bank or contact Zerodha Fund House support.
