What is a Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP)?

SWP is a facility for investors to withdraw a predetermined amount from their mutual fund investment at a predetermined interval.


How frequently can the unit holder withdraw under the SWP facility?

Interval can be monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly.


What is the minimum amount that a unit holder can withdraw under SWP?

The minimum amount is disclosed in the scheme's offer document.


Which are the pre-defined dates for SWP?

SWP date can be any date of the month. The default date is the first day of the month.


What will happen if the start date and end date are not mentioned in SWP?

In this case, SWP will continue till the balance amount in the folio reaches zero.


What are the circumstances leading to the cessation of SWP?

SWP will automatically stop if the available balance becomes zero after redemption/switches.


What is the turnaround time for registration of SWP?

It takes a minimum of seven days to register an SWP.
