What is a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP)?

SIP allows investors to invest in Mutual Fund in a disciplined manner. Through SIP investors can invest at predetermined intervals in mutual fund schemes and the amount is directly debited from investors' accounts and gets invested in mutual fund schemes.


How do I start a SIP?

New investors need to first register with the Zerodha fund house.


What is the minimum investment allowed?

Every mutual fund scheme has a defined minimum amount of investment required for SIP. Please refer to the respective scheme’s documents for details.


What is the default frequency for SIP?

SIP can choose the SIP intervals from weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly options.


What is the end date of the SIP?

The investor can set SIP for specific instalments or can set it as perpetual i.e. SIP will be live until cancelled.


How do I cancel the SIP?

Investors can login to the website and under the manage SIP section can cancel SIP.


Once I cancel my SIP, when does it get cancelled?

It generally takes 7-10 days to register the cancellation of SIP.


Can I commence my SIP on any day?

Yes, investors can commence SIP on any day of the month.
