What is an online nomination?
Investors can update/add/modify nominee details on the website without any physical forms.
How can the investor use the online nomination facility?
Investors need to log in to our website with their login credentials and follow the steps mentioned under the nominee details section of the manage account tab.
How many days it will take to update the nominee details if investors modify, add or delete the nominee details?
Nominee details will be updated immediately.
Will nomination be allowed for investment done on behalf of minor investors?
No.
Does a nominee need to be KYC compliant?
A nominee may not be required to be KYC compliant at the time of the investment. However, Zerodha Mutual Fund encourages you to get your nominees KYC compliant to ensure hassle-free procedures in case of an untoward incident.
What if an individual does not wish to nominate in the folio?
Pursuant to the SEBI (Mutual Fund) Regulations, it is imperative to disclose if the investor wishes to nominate and accordingly, provisions are enabled on all the transaction platforms.
Who can be made a nominee in the folio?
Any individual (related or otherwise to the investor), any charitable Trust or Central / State Government can be nominated in the folio.
In which investment type is nomination mandatory?
Nomination is not mandatory in Mutual Fund investments. However, if you wish to not nominate, a declaration to this effect is required.
How many maximum nominations are allowed in the folio?
Maximum 3 nominees are allowed in a folio.
Who is not allowed to nominate in the folio?
Corporate Investors / Non-individuals can not make nominations in the Mutual Fund investments.
Can a power of attorney holder sign the nomination form?
No. A POA holder can not sign the nomination form.
Is it mandatory for all the holders in a given folio to sign the registration/cancellation of the nominee?
Yes, Irrespective of the Holding pattern of the Investment, it is imperative for all the holders to confirm the nomination.
